Urgent Health UK condemns violence and racism
Urgent Health UK (UHUK) and its members unequivocally condemn the violence, intimidation, Islamophobia, and racial hatred erupting in riots across the country.
As urgent and integrated healthcare service providers, supporting nearly 70% of the UK population, we stand united with our colleagues who are dealing with the consequences of these events, and support the police, fire, and other services working to restore order and protect our communities.
As social enterprises, we have zero tolerance for racism and are deeply committed to the health and wellbeing of our local communities. These communities include not only those we care for but also the people who work for us, and with us, and the wider areas we serve. The violence impacts us all, threatening public health and safety, and we call for a unified effort to support community healing and resilience.
We are dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within our workforce and the communities we serve, ensuring everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.
Support is available for any of our staff or patients who may feel unsafe at this time, or wish to raise concerns or report intimidation. They should speak directly to their local employer or service provider, who will assist them.
