UHUK responds to appointment of Yvette Cooper
"On behalf of Urgent Health UK, I would like to congratulate Yvette Cooper on her appointment as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
"She takes on this role at an important time for the NHS, as the focus shifts from setting out a long-term vision to delivering meaningful change for patients and communities.
"Urgent Health UK and our members share the Government's ambition to provide more joined-up, neighbourhood-based care, improve access to services and help more people receive care closer to home. Social enterprise urgent and integrated care providers already support around 70% of the UK population through established 24/7 services that are deeply embedded within local health and care systems.
"Every day, our members coordinate care across organisational boundaries, manage clinical risk, support multidisciplinary teams and help people receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. They bring the operational experience, trusted local partnerships and flexibility needed to help turn national ambition into practical delivery.
"We look forward to working with the Secretary of State and her team to share the experience of our members and demonstrate how social enterprise urgent and integrated care providers can play a central role in delivering neighbourhood health and supporting a sustainable NHS for the future."
